Located in northeastern Alabama, Little river canyon also the Little river canyon national preserve is a beautiful slice of land that deserve a visit whenever you’re passing by or across the country. The preserve is 15,288 arces spanning from fort Payne Alabama to ceder buff Alabama with the visitor center located on AL HWY 35. The park was inducted into the system on October,21, 1992 to preserve the nature of the park.
Things to do
As for things to do, Little river canyon has a multitude of activities for nature lover of all sizes. The park has a handful of hiking/horseback trails like the YCC loop trail, Desoto scout trail, and Canyon mouth trail these trails difficulty ranges. But you don’t need to be a hiker to experience to beauty of the canyon, There is a driving trail that goes along the rim with many scenic overlooks. lastly and arguably the most popular part of the park is the water fall that is located right across the street from the visitor center in the warmer month you can see people fishing and even swimming is the river below the waterfall.
