It’s been awhile since i have got back from idaho to my home in georgia. I decided to drive back so i thought i would share my road trip experience with you. This wasn’t my first road trip and I doubt it will be my last, so i pre planned this one just like the previous ones to visit as many national parks as i can. The original plan was Idaho to Yellowstone to Rocky mountains to capulin mountains to lake meredith to hot springs then back to georgia. So the first leg of the trip went as planned. I arrived at Yellowstone about midday and went to see the grand canyon of yellowstone, which was great, but it did start flurrying. I didn’t think much of it afterall it was late October so I wasn’t surprised. I headed back to the hotel to get some rest for the next day. I had big plans. I was going to spend the whole day exploring yellowstone and then continue south. When I woke up it snowed like crazy during the night. It snowed so bad that they closed the park and were not allowing people inside. They were probably plowing the roads and that’s okay. safety should always be important. I cut the day as a loss and went around because I still have to stay on track and could’t stay and wait. The second day I wound up in a town named Rawlins in southern Wyoming. I was a little disappointed to not see yellowstone but I was excited for the next day, The rocky mountains. I have never been to the Rocky mountains or ever the state of colorado. You can imagine my shock when I found out they were also closed due to a forest fire they were fighting in the area. I must’ve missed this information planning the trip because it threw me for a loop. Because it would throw off the whole route because I want to obviously avoid the whole fire. So from now on I would have to improvise the rest of the trip. So I decided to bee-line it back to Georgia only stopping to sleep and to visit 1 park that was on the way. The stop I took was at Tallgrass prairie national preserve ( which I will go into detail later). All in all the trip didn’t go as planned but I did get some enjoyment out of it and made it back safe.
